The Shop

The Schleiff Boatworks shop is located in the mountains of south-eastern West Virginia. You might wonder as many have, "There's no water near there?" It is true I am in the mountains. While I sometimes wish I were closer to big water, I do have some nice lakes where I can sail when I get a free moment. These mountains provide a friendly environment to live, great local woods that I use both in boat and furniture building, and I am within a few hours drive of the Chesapeake Bay or a day to most any point on the east coast, Florida to Maine.

Below are some photos taken from just outside the shop door and a few other parts of the farm. I find the view both beautiful and inspiring. I wanted to share how it looks in various seasons.
