For Sale: "Rescue Minor" A shallow draft Diesel Launch
My newest boat to be launched, Rescue Minor is a 20’ shallow draft diesel launch. William Atkin designed her in 1945 for military rescue use in the south pacific. I first became interested in this design when I walked in to the Atkin & Co booth at the Mystic WoodenBoat Show in 2007 and saw her plans featured on the wall. I was drawn to the long clean lines, low horsepower requirements, shallow draft and large clean interior that allows for many different arrangements. I made only a few changes to the original design, including the cold molded hull, and center console steering instead of the original tiller. She was launched on June 20, 2008 and is currently for sale including trailer, cover and delivery to the east coast.
