Ninigret: A Fuel-efficient 22' Camp Cruiser
John Atkin of Atkin and Co. designed Ninigret in 1963 as a practical fishing boat for use in the Florida Keys and on Ninigret Pond in Rhode Island. She has healthy deadrise forward that warps down to about 15 degrees amidships and disappears at the transom. With a modest outboard motor (25-60 hp), she planes very easily and the sharp forefoot creates a soft, dry ride in varied conditions.
The cabin with its two 6'4" bunks provides dry sleeping room and modest accomodations for a couple. These include a portable head, stowage in the bow, and additional space under the bunks. Her light weight and modest size make her easily trailerable to your favorite cruising ground.
