Design Considerations

Design is one of the most important decisions you will make when we build your new boat.  I have prepared this personal selection out of hundreds of great designs that I feel are very special, to help you make your decision.  I have taken the time to review the plans and develop my own thoughts about what construction technique would be best suited.  I also have some suggestions about what could be changed or modified in several of the boats  to make them even better or more functional than the originals.

Criteria when selecting designs for this list include: Beautiful clean lines, speed with low power or sails, safe, and seaworthy. My favorite designers include NG Herreshoff, William Atkin, Commodore Munroe, Phil Bolger, Ian Oughtred, Joel White, and a few others.

When you would like to discuss any of these designs in more detail or other designs that interest you, send me an email or call me at 304.667.1090
