Coquina, A Herreshoff Cat-ketch

The Coquina was a Cat-ketch designed by N.G. Herreshoff in 1889 for his personal use in Bristol RI.  ''I sailed her often both summer and winter'' Herreshoff wrote late in his life.  Coquina remained in the Herreshoff family until she was destroyed in the hurricane of 1938.

Schleiff Boatworks now offers a modern replica using glued sapele plywood lapstrake construction with Sitka spruce spars, custom bronze hardware, and mahogany brightwork.

Various options are available to customize this boat to meet your individual needs.  This replica of Coquina has been SOLD and will soon sail out of Brooklin, ME.  Please contact me for pricing and availability of costom-built Coquinas.
