SBW Boat Offerings
This “boats” section provides some information on boats offered by Schleiff Boatworks. I have divided it into two parts: Completed Boats and recommended designs for boats that I would like to build. Before I recommend a boat, there are a number of factors that I take into consideration including: whether the design has been proven successful in the past, whether I think the design is worthy of being built as a one-off wooden boat, and I also consider future maintenance issues (no one wants to spend their summer repairing a boat). If a boat fulfills these criteria, it is added to Recommended Boat Designs page. Boats for Sale
For sale: Coquina She is a 16’8" NG Herreshoff designed cat-ketch modified for glued lapstrake construction. Built of Sappelli plywood, West System epoxy, traditional cast bronze hardware, and Sitka spruce spars.
For sale: Rescue Minor My version of William Atkin’s 1945 design, Rescue Minor, a 19’6" shallow draft, tunnel stern, diesel launch. She is double planked in okoume plywood and sheathed with fiberglass and epoxy. Her Yanmar engine allows her to cruise at 18 knots with a fuel consumption of only 0.8 gal/hr.
